What is an Ambassador?
Exercise is Medicine (EIM) Ambassadors are ISU student volunteers who help promote the message that Exercise is Medicine by helping with various events on campus and in the Ames community. Becoming an Ambassador will provide you with many opportunities to achieve valuable volunteer hours while also allowing you to distinguish yourself as an official EIM Ambassador on resumes.
Becoming an Ambassador is easy!
There are two steps to becoming an official EIM Ambassador.
1. Register on our Givepulse page to volunteer for EIM volunteering events! (After opening the link to our Givepulse page, click 'Become a Member'). This tool tracks every time you volunteer and can calculate the individual impact that you are having on the community by volunteering. This makes for credible and valuable information on resumes! You will also be added to our mailing list so that you are notified of new volunteer opportunities.
2. Pay the dues! This can be done by contacting us at exercyse@iastate.edu. It is $5 for one semester or you may pay for both semesters ($8) at once.
Want to join our leadership team?
Students looking for experience in building leadership skills can apply to join the EIM Leadership Team by emailing us at exercyse@iastate.edu. We require 1+ semester(s) of being an ambassador before being eligible for a leadership application. Applications are on a yearly basis (open late Spring semester) with exceptions for new position openings due to graduating members or other circumstances. Student ambassadors who are the most active throughout the year through volunteering and attending events/socials will be given preference for these positions.
