Iowa State University's FBLA Collegiate Named National Champions

Iowa State University's FBLA Collegiate Chapter ended the 2023-2024 membership year as National Champions. The chapter brought eight members, its most attendees in history, to the 2024 National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida. Members were able to experience workshops, compete in events, network with students from across the nation, and spend a day at Universal Studios.
During the conference's opening session, Chapter President Jonathan Nevenhoven (ACCT '26) represented Iowa as the State President for Iowa FBLA Collegiate and Who's Who recipient. The session then recognized the top chapters of the year during its Outstanding Chapter ceremony. The Iowa State University chapter took home 1st Place in Outstanding Chapter being named the top chapter in the nation. The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) placed second as Iowa FBLA Collegiate holds the top two chapters in the nation. This accomplishment shows the hard work and dedication of Iowa State FBLA's officer team and members.
During the Awards of Excellence Ceremony at the conclusion of the conference, Iowa State brought home multiple national winners:
- Andrew O'Shea (PSYC '25) - 1st Place in Business Ethics
- Jonathan Nevenhoven - 1st Place in Future Business Executive
- Jonathan Nevenhoven & Emma LaFleur (ACCT '26) - 2nd Place in State of Chapter Presentation
- Iyana Nelson (BUS AN '26) - 7th Place in Parliamentary Procedure
Chapter Vice President of Communication, Benjamin Pellizzari (BUS AN '25) represented the chapter as the 2023-24 National Vice President of Communication. At the conference, Benjamin led workshops, spoke to the membership, and gave his farewell on the national stage. We are very thankful for Benji's hardwork and dedication to our chapter and the national association this membership year.
Chapter President Jonathan Nevenhoven and DMACC FBLA President Paige Mentzer hold Outstanding Chapter Awards as Iowa State takes first place and DMACC takes second place.
Jonathan Nevenhoven and Emma LaFleur accept second place for State of Chapter Presentation. The first time this event has been competed in by members of the Iowa State FBLA chapter.
Jonathan Nevenhoven was awarded first place in Future Business Executive as one of the first national champions in FBLA Collegiate in Iowa State's history.
