Description
The Wind Energy Student Organization (WESO) is dedicated to advancing wind energy education and awareness at both the university and K-12 levels. The club actively participates in the Department of Energy's Collegiate Wind Competition each spring, where students apply their knowledge and skills in wind energy. WESO is open to all majors and offers three primary teams: the Turbine Design Team, the Wind Farm Design Team, and the Outreach Team. Members contribute with a diverse set of skills, including communication, event planning, economics, CAD, machining, programming, and electrical circuits, to collaborate on real-world wind energy challenges and initiatives. The organization provides an inclusive environment for students to engage in hands-on projects, develop expertise in wind energy, and raise awareness about sustainable energy solutions.
