Description
We are the Student Inter-Greek Music Association at Iowa State University. SIGMA is comprised of the music fraternities at ISU: Sigma Alpha Iota and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. The purpose of SIGMA is to further the mutual interests of all member chapters; to establish and maintain cooperation among the member chapters; to plan and promote inter-chapter projects; and to promote the best in music at Iowa State University.

Membership Qualifications |
Officers must be in good standing with their respective Member Chapter and must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. |
Membership Restrictions |
Individuals must be a member of Sigma Alpha Iota or Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. See member chapter Constitutions and/or Bylaws for details on membership criteria for each organization. |
Elections/Selection |
Assembly Representative elections are held annually. Each member chapter elects three representatives to serve in the Assembly. Officer positions are assigned to two Representatives from each Member Chapter according to a semesterly rotation. |
Meetings |
The Council Assembly meets once monthly. Special meetings may be called by the Council Assembly, the Council President, or the Council Advisor. |
Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
Council Assembly meets once monthly to discuss matters of mutual interest, including fundraisers, events, projects for the music department, etc. |
Description of Special Events
Spring Formal - All individuals who are part of a SIGMA Member Chapter in good standing are eligible to attend. |
Open House - Held in the Fall semester. The open house is an opportunity for potential new members to meet the organizations, as well as the members of each chapter to mingle. |
