Description
Sigma Gamma Tau is a Chapter of the Sigma Gamma Tau National Aerospace Engineering Honor Society. It is the aim of Sigma Gamma Tau to recognize and honor the individuals in the field of Aerospace engineering who are a credit to their profession by virtue and scholarship, integrity, and achievement. Sigma Gamma Tau also seeks to broaden the education of its members in fields other than engineering and to create a spirit of loyalty and fellowship among its members. Sigma Gamma Tau's collegiate chapters elect annually to membership those students, alumni, and professionals who, by conscientious attention to their studies or professional duties, uphold this high standard for the betterment of their profession.

Membership Qualifications |
Invitations are sent out every semester to students within the Department of Aerospace Engineering who are in the upper one-third of the senior class, upper one-quarter of the junior class, and the upper one-fifth of the sophomore class. |
Membership Restrictions |
Students must receive an invitation from the organization in order to join. |
Elections/Selection |
Elections are held at the end of every academic year for the following positions: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Project Lead, and Webmaster. |
Meetings |
Meetings are held bi-weekly throughout the fall and spring semesters. |
Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
Meetings are held bi-weekly throughout the fall and spring semester. Meetings consist of various social events, professional development sessions, community building activities, departmental projects, and community service activities. |
Description of Special Events
Initiation ceremonies are held in the beginning of each semester to welcome new members and to present their certificate proving their membership to Sigma Gamma Tau. The ceremony will also highlight each group's completed initiation project. |
