Description
Pre-Vet Club (PVC) at ISU is designed to serve as a forum where students interested in the field of veterinary medicine and supported fields gather to learn. PVC holds monthly meetings and frequent activities centered on specific projects, subjects, or speakers of interest. PVC is also a great group to gain leadership experience, there are many exec positions and constant opportunities to take on a project and be involved.

Membership Qualifications |
Membership is open to all registered students in good standing at Iowa State University, regardless of major, who have an interest in veterinary medicine. |
Membership Restrictions |
To be considered an active member of the Pre-Veterinary Club at Iowa State University, members must be able to abide by the requirements in Article VI, Section 2 of the PVC Constitution. |
Elections/Selection |
Elections will take place annually at the last meeting of the spring semester. All interested candidates shall have the opportunity to submit a nomination questionnaire for club distribution at least one week prior to the election.
Each candidate must meet eligibility requirements as stated in Article VIII, Section 2 of the PVC Constitution. For more information about the PVC election process, refer to Article X of the Constitution. |
Meetings |
A minimum of four business meetings shall be held during each of the fall and spring semesters. Typically, business meetings occur once a month on Thursdays at 6:30 pm. Members must attend at least 2 of these meetings per semester.

Description of Special Events
Paws to Cure Cancer 5k - A fundraiser for the Boo Radley Foundation, hosted annually by the Pre-Veterinary Club. The Boo Radley Foundation, a nonprofit organization, strives to promote comparative medicine as our four-legged friends that suffer from many of the same diseases as humans. |
APVMA Symposium - The PVC of ISU offers an opportunity for members to attend the Symposium. This 2-day event brings pre-veterinary students across the country together at a veterinary school in the US. The Symposium consists of labs, lectures, dinners, and tabling expos, allowing plentiful opportunities to network with fellow pre-veterinary students, veterinarians, and admissions officers worldwide. |
Midwest Symposium - an opportunity for students seeking a career in veterinary medicine to attend various lectures and hands-on wet labs conducted by experienced veterinary professionals. Tours of the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine will also be offered. The Symposium is hosted by the Pre-Veterinary Club of ISU and is held every even-numbered year. |
