Description
The Iowa Gamma Chapter of Pi Beta Phi was the first organization for women founded as a national fraternity on April 28, 1867. Pi Beta Phi fraternity was also the first to establish a national philanthropic project, establish alumni advisory committees and alumni departments, utilize chapter programming, and have leadership training.

Must have college GPA of 2.91 and high school GPA of 3.15. |

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
Pi Beta Phi holds weekly chapter dinners and meetings on Monday at the chapter facility. Beyond that, there are a variety of activities that fall on Pi Beta Phi's calendar. Examples include philanthropies, community service, date parties, formal events, social functions with other Greek organizations, sisterhood activities, and leadership and personal development opportunities. |
Description of Special Events
Each Fall Pi Beta Phi holds a philanthropy event called Pi Phi Sugar Rush which includes ice cream, sweets galore, and the opportunity to pie current members in the face. In the Spring, Pi Beta Phi has the well-known philanthropy serving homemade deep-fried tacos. All proceeds go to the Pi Beta Phi Foundation to support literacy efforts locally, throughout the United States, and internationally. All are welcome to join in for some good food and philanthropic efforts. |
