Description
The NREMGSO resulted from combining the Animal Ecology and Forestry Graduate Student Organizations. The goal of the organization is to further the professional development of graduate students and the department. Our organization achieves this goal in a number of ways, including organizing a departmental seminar series where students have an opportunity to learn about the research of others in their field and eventually present their own research, and by purchasing relevant computer software.

NREM GSO manages 3 main programs within the department. The first and primary program is the departmental seminar series where GSO is in charge of inviting and hosting interesting speakers and coordinating the weekly seminars. GSO members also operate and publish the annual Field Notes Magazine highlighting student and faculty research. The last main program is a seminar/workshop Brown Bag series that is intended to provide graduate students about services, programs, software, or any other helpful information that could make life as a graduate student easier. |
