Welcome to Horizon Builders Club!

We are an official student chapter of Kreative Horizon, an organization putting on hackathons, datathons, pitch competitions, datathons, and workshops to empower students to build the future of tomorrow, today! As a recognized student chapter, we help bring those events to Iowa State as well organize on-campus workshops and send students to out-of-Ames tech conferences and hackathons to participate with a community!

 

So... Why Should I Join?

Great question! The issue with having Engineering, Business, and Design as separate colleges and majors is that students barely get the chance to learn from completely different disciplines to become well rounded BUILDERS. 

We want to fix that. 

If you're the kind of person that doesn't fit in a box and has interests spanning technology, startups, coding, designing, marketing, and more - Horizon Builders Club is the place for you to incubate and develop your skills as a Builder. With the help of our student-led competitions, on-campus workshops, leadership opportunities, and traveling to out-of-Ames events, we promise you'll leave more empowered than before you came to your first meeting.

Our Purpose

  1. Gather a community of like minded students to attend tech conferences, hackathons, design jams, and pitch competitions.
  2. Teach students skills they don’t learn in the classroom through workshops, speakers, and networking.
  3. Organize hackathons, datathons, pitch competitions, and design jams, at Iowa State University.

 

Meetings

We plan to meet at least once every month in Coover Hall Room 1016 at 6:00 PM to run workshops, vote and organize events to travel to, and to network with other innovation focused students around campus. 

You will need a Kreative Horizon Golden Ticket to enter our club meetings and be recognized as a member. Golden Tickets are completely free to obtain. Please reach out to our Treasurer at armaang@iastate.edu to get your ticket today!

Members of the club are not required to help organize the following events. Our parent organization, Kreative Horizon, is enabling these events and a few students in the club are volunteering to help. You can be a member of Horizon Builders Club without having to specifically volunteer to run any events!
