Description
The Boxing Club at Iowa State is a USABoxing registered gym and member of the National Collegiate Boxing Association. The club's members range from those who are simply interested in an intense workout to those who are interested in competing at the collegiate level. No experience is necessary to join! Beginners will take the semester long basics training class we offer in order to learn the fundamentals of boxing before joining the club. Club practices are every weekday and each is optional to accommodate for various schedules. These practices involve partner drilling, shadowboxing, bag work, mitt work, conditioning, and sparring (optional). Competitions (for those interested in doing them) are offered at the amateur and collegiate levels, and include a regional and national tournament, both hosted by the National Collegiate Boxing Association. We are designed to provide a safe and positive boxing experience for all students who are interested in learning, training, and competing (optional) in amateur/collegiate boxing.
