The Alliance for Disability Awareness is a student organization dedicated to supporting students with disabilities, as well as raising awareness for the wide variety of disabilities on campus and pushing for a more accessible ISU.

Membership Qualifications |
Any students running for an officer position must be in good standing with the university and enrolled at least half-time at Iowa State. A GPA of 2.00 or above must be maintained to be eligible for office. |

Elections/Selection |
Elections are held the last meeting of spring semester, positions are held for one academic year. |
Meetings |
Meetings will be alternating Thursdays, generally from 5-6 pm (unless our planned activity is scheduled to go long, which will be noted on the event details on the calendar) in 1158 Hixson-Lied Student Success Center. Meeting dates will exclude any university holidays, Prep Week, and Finals Week. Please Reach out if you have any questions! |
Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
Meetings consist of both social activities as well as planning for awareness activities. Our aim is to create a safe place for students with disabilities to come and share their experiences and struggles. We welcome any individual with a disability, whether it is visible or invisible as well as people who do not have a disability, but wish to learn more! |
Description of Special Events
Special events include Disability Awareness Week to highlight the diversity of disabilities at Iowa State. We will also have tables at the Iowa Regents Disability Awareness Summit on October, 24th, and the Homecoming Kickoff on October 27th! |
