Description
An honorary society for top-achieving juniors and seniors in Liberal Arts and Sciences. Membership is by invitation only. Students are not required to apply for membership -- all juniors and seniors with majors in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) who qualify on academic performance will be reviewed. About 2% of LAS juniors and 5% of LAS seniors are invited. New members are invited in the first week of March.

Invitation only; nomination by faculty and staff member of Phi Beta Kappa based on academic qualifications, summarized in our constitution and by-laws; we are allowed to invite approximately 25 juniors and 75 seniors |

| Elections/Selection |
Elections of new members occurs in the Spring semester. Students are notified by the first week of March of their nomination. |
| Meetings |
Initiation occurs on the Sunday before finals week of the Spring term. |
Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
| The purpose of the organization is to recognize the accomplishments of exceptional students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University. |
