Description

The We Will Student Collective is an organization that aims to fundraise, host events, and coordinate opportunities with the broader We Will Collective for student-athletes. Many students want to be involved with Iowa State Athletics, but not everyone is able to be a student-athlete. Through the We Will Student Collective, students can both feel engaged with ISU Athletics and make a real impact on the success of our athletic program without needing to contribute directly as an athlete. This club aims to offer students great experience in fundraising and organizing as well as real interactions with Iowa State Athletics operations.

Elections/Selection For elections, we will follow a nomination format wherein the floor is initially opened up for nominations by the president or election official, and a nominator names a person for a certain position. There must be another person who seconds the nomination in order for the nominee to be added as a candidate. The person nominated must accept the nomination in order to continue as a nominee. After all of the nominations have been mentioned, the president or election official will close the floor for nominations, and voting will begin. Members will then cast their vote by writing their name on the ballot first and then writing the name of the candidate they want to vote for. By including their name on the ballot, it ensures only one vote is cast by each person. Next, the president or election official will count the ballots and announce the name of the winning candidate. Each position will last one full calendar year (Jan 1, Dec 31), with elections occurring during a meeting near the end of the fall semester. The winning candidate will begin their new position effective once the new year begins.
Meetings We would hold meetings once a month to discuss the general operations of the club and to discuss potential events to hold for fundraising. Overall, the meetings are meant to help facilitate the outside operations of the club and to brainstorm/set ideas for how the club will operate. Discussions may involve discussing how best to fundraise, dates for fundraising and may be held in correlation with the broader We Will Collective.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

We will meet around once a month to share general ideas and operations of the club, as well as to discuss the potential for outside-of-meeting events. Aside from meetings, the club will organize events like a tailgate walk, where we spread the word about the We Will Collective. Other events that may be planned in the future include special meetings with players , or any other fundraising event for the We Will Collective that may encourage donations to the broader We Will Collective.
