Description
To empower Latinx/Hispanic students and professionals in veterinary medicine and support aspiring Latinx/Hispanic veterinarians in order to better serve client demographics or “the next generation of Latinx/Hispanic veterinarians”. To help create a veterinary workforce that is representative of our society in order to make veterinary care more accessible to the Latinx community.

Elections/Selection |
Only members in good standing shall be considered for membership into the Executive Board.
Appointments to the Executive Board shall be considered and approved by the current Executive Board.
Majority vote will decide the appointment of a new officer.
Appointments should be made in the Spring/Summer, prior to the start of the following Fall semester.
New appointments shall be made known to the chapter at large.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
Meetings will take place throughout the semester, at least once a month. Due to any pandemics, meetings can be carried out via video conferencing software. Meetings will take place at the veterinary school when possible. Executive meetings will occur at minimum once a month, time and location determined as needed.
LVMA at ISU will participate in a community outreach event once per year/minimum. This will be planned by the executive team. Outreach events may include volunteering with the local Boys and Girls Club, volunteering with high schools, elementary school presentations, or helping with low-cost animal health services.
