Description
The Ophthalmology Club is dedicated to provide veterinary medical students with opportunities to explore the unique specialty that is Ophthalmology. The club advances the overall knowledge of our members by facilitating interaction with the doctors in the Iowa State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, offering hands on experiences within the hospital, and by hosting clinically relevant lecture series. Our organizations mission mirrors the College’s core value “to seek new and better ways to provide excellence and quality in learning, teaching, service, and research.”

| Meetings |
We hope to have a lunch or "coffee with clinicians" meeting every other week. Lunch meetings may or may not precede wet labs. 2-3 wet labs will be held each semester. |
Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
| Meetings involve hour-long lectures and case studies given by Ophthalmology Residents and Faculty, as well as other professionals with experience in veterinary ophthalmology. Meetings are held 3-5 times per semester and are held over the lunch hour. Wet labs are held twice a semester and may include: Canine Enucleation and Cherry Eye Repair, Canine Eye Examination, Surgical Techniques, Equine Enucleation and Subpalpebral Lavage Placement. |
