Description

The Egyptian Student Association (ESA) seeks to represent the Egyptian community in Ames and ensure communication between Egyptians and all others. Our association aims to share the Egyptian culture, customs and traditions with American and international students, and to the greater community of Ames. Our association tries to bring graduate, undergraduate students and Ames community members together.

Membership Information

Allowed Members All ISU students or non-ISU students are welcome to join
Allowed Officers Must be members of ESA at least 3 months before the elections
Membership Qualifications Officers should have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be enrolled at least halftime. Prior experience and knowledge about Arabic culture and language.
Membership Restrictions There are no restrictions for joining ESA.
Elections/Selection Elections take place at the end of Spring semester
Meetings We meet the first Friday of each month at 6 pm. Email us for the location

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

The ESA activities will range from cultural and diversity to special activities that will bring together Egyptian students and everyone interested in knowing about the Egyptian culture. Furthermore our activities will spread cultural awareness and diversity among individuals, groups and organizations. Students may get involved with ESA through our numerous activities.

Description of Special Events

We have social and cultural events. Also, we organize events for families and kids
